FCE wins Innovation Award Infratech 2010

FCE was with her InfraCore Inside-technology chosen as winner of the InfraTech Belgium Innovation Award 2010.

The price was not entirely unexpected. Recently FiberCore Europe was given a place in the prestigious FEM Tech25.

The main argument was that  FiberCore Europe has succeeded  to produce these composite structures price competitive with steel and concrete, it can be worked quickly and much less material is needed to build or install a bridge. InfraCore®Inside is suitable for the construction of bridges in all traffic classes, but also to industrial roads and floating floors. The jury believes in the advantages and future prospects of the InfraCore® technology. A decision of the jury we are very proud of is: "The bridge of FiberCore Europe is the deserved winner because it provides a nice light material downsizing of the necessary equipment with steel or concrete needed to build and install a bridge, without losing any quality, strength and sustainability. "

InfraCore® technology is designed to carry heavy burdens composite structures and is marketed by FiberCore Europe. Meanwhile, in the Netherlands about 30 bridges built with InfraCore® Inside.
The technology achieves a significant trend change in construction and infrastructure. Building in this fiber reinforced plastic is light, safe, fast, durable, maintenance free and environmentally friendly, something that is seamless to sustainable procurement. The material is 10 times stronger than steel and concrete, and also much lighter. This allows much larger pre-fab constructions to be produced. The material complies with all applicable TGB and NEN-standards, and of course to the Eurocodes.
