The winner of our competition of the InfraTech 2011 is known. The winner is Mr J. Vlastuin of G. Vlastuin Transport from Renswoude. With an estimated 2355 kg he was the closest to the actual mass of the bridge. Mr. Vlastuin urns wins the all-weekend to Paris. The actual net mass of our demo bridge is 2315 kg including handrails, as can be seen on the images below. This is many times lighter than a comparable steel or concrete bridge. The estimates were therefore far apart. From 1000 kg to 150,000 kg. This indicates to us that the Infra-industry is not sufficiently familiar with the benefits of composites, as the light weight.
