Delamination in FRP
The Achilles heel in regular FRP structures (sandwiches) has always been shaped by the ‘delamination problem’; releasing the skin from the core. The delamination problem mainly occurs after an impact load, followed by fatigue load. In the case of bridges, this could be the case with a blow damage followed by passages with a wheel print. The InfraCore® technology is currently the only technology that offers a solution to the delamination problem. Solving the delamination problem has paved the way for fiber-reinforced polymers (composite) in the infrastructure.
