FCE included in the prestigious FEM Tech25 2009

FCE wins Innovation Award Infratech 2010

FCE has been named winner of the 2010 InfraTech Belgium Innovation Award with its patented InfraCore® Inside technology.

The jury was unanimous in its verdict except for one vote. The award is not entirely unexpected. Recently, FiberCore Europe was included in the prestigious FEM Tech25.

Important arguments of the jury were that FiberCore Europe managed to produce these composite structures at a price that is very competitive with concrete and steel, work can be done quickly and much less material is needed to build and install a bridge. InfraCore® Inside is suitable for the construction of bridges in all traffic classes, as well as lock gates, industrial floors and floating roads. The jury believes in the benefits and future prospects of InfraCore® technology. The economic and ecological advantages of the InfraCore® also appealed to the jury. A statement from the jury of which we are very proud is: "The bridge made of FiberCore Europe is the deserved winner because the lightweight material provides a nice downsizing of the equipment needed with steel or concrete to build and place a bridge, without having to sacrifice quality, bearing capacity and lifespan."

InfraCore® technology was developed specifically for heavy-duty composite load-bearing structures and is marketed by FiberCore Europe. Around 30 bridges with InfraCore® Inside have now been built in the Netherlands.
The technology realizes a significant trend change in construction and infra. Building with this fiber-reinforced plastic is light, safe, fast, durable, maintenance-free and environmentally friendly, something that ties in seamlessly with Sustainable Purchasing. The material is 10 times stronger than steel and concrete, and also much lighter. This makes it possible to produce much larger structures pre-fab. The material meets all applicable TGB and NEN standards, and of course the Eurocodes.
