FiberCore Europe is the specialist and market leader of load-bearing structures made of fiber-reinforced plastic (composite) for infra. From our factory in Rotterdam we send several prefabricated bridges into Europe every month. By using composites, we can design our constructions much lighter. That means less material for the bridge and underlying structure, and thus sustainable alternative compared to traditional building materials, which last a long time. In addition, we are increasingly applying circular and bio-based materials to deliver even more beautiful products. This is only possible with the right people, which is why we are looking for you.
What will you be doing as a Composite Bridge Constructor?
As a structural engineer, you have a leading role in the design of our bridges. You will be supported by draftsmen and planners who will help you to realize your design. What you design this week, can leave the factory a month later and because our office is attached to our factory hall, you have a direct connection to the product. Within this role you will design structures based on static and dynamic behavior. Within the engineering office, we will train you in our specific construction method and because we have already designed and built more than 1,500 bridges, we can quickly get you started.
As a Composite Bridge Constructor:
- Design your bridges based on their static and dynamic behavior (deflection, accelerations, eigenfrequencies, local stresses).
- Analyze your structures using FEM (Abaqus) to properly visualize local stresses.
- Are familiar with methodologies to perform fatigue analysis.
- Automate and optimize your constructions and design thereof by coding in python.
What do we expect from you?
- You have a completed degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering.
- You enjoy working as part of a team.
- Material knowledge composite.
- Application knowledge of civil engineering for engineering purposes.
- Proficient in Dutch and English in word and writing.
- You are solution-oriented, analytical and accurate.
- Work experience would be nice, but is not a hard requirement.
